How to Recover from Lash Extensions

Eyelash extensions have soared in popularity over the last decade, and we can see why - who wouldn’t want to roll out of bed with perfect lashes, sans mascara? But like many things in life, eyelash extensions are often too good to be true; they’re amazing at first, but all too often end up leaving your natural lashes brittle, broken, and lackluster. So, what if we told you achieving naturally gorgeous lashes without lash extensions is totally with reach?

As the leader in lash serums worldwide, it’s safe to say we know a thing or two about achieving beautiful, healthy lashes – and because we’re committed to that cause, we’ve created an easy to follow regimen to rehab your lashes in the blink of an eye (pun intended).

Take a Break

Are you noticing your natural lashes seem thinner or more sparse?  If so, your lash extensions are starting to damage the natural lash.  The best thing you can do to stop the damage is to give your lashes a little TLC by skipping the salon appointment.  This might be hard at first, but your lashes will only continue to become more damaged if you keep up the fill appointments. Plus, by skipping the expensive fills, your bank account will thank you!

Avoid Waterproof Products

Waterproof makeup is notoriously hard to remove, and often requires tugging or pulling to get the eye area completely clean and make-up free. We recommend avoiding waterproof makeup in general, but especially when trying to restore the health of your natural lashes. Instead, use a longwearing yet nourishing formula, like our Double-Ended Volume Set, which has Peptides and Biotin to fortify and strengthen your natural lashes while delivering sky high length too.

Be Gentle

One of the most common ways we damage our lashes is by removing eye makeup. While we always recommend removing makeup before bed, make sure to soak the area to loosen product, and then use a gentle hand and avoid rubbing or pulling. One of our favorite products for makeup removal is Micellar Water Lash Wash, which dissolves makeup, dirt and oil in just a few swipes of a cotton pad! Formulated with good-for-you ingredients, this conditioning eye makeup remover does not require rinsing, and calming and hydrating nutrients like Panthenol, Aloe and Chamomile leave the eye area feeling clean and soothed.

Use a Lash Serum

Lash serums are packed with conditioning nutrients and are one of the best ways to quickly restore the long-term health of your lashes. We love our RevitaLash® Advanced Eyelash Conditioner not only because it’s been around for years (it created the cosmetic lash serum category!), but also because of its commitment to safe, clean formulas. RevitaLash Advanced is gluten free, vegan friendly and features lash-loving, nourishing ingredients like Biotin, Peptides in the proprietary BioPeptin Complex® to strengthen, soften and enhance the natural beauty of your lashes.
